Alpha Arts and Science College, Porur celebrated Alpha Fest on April 8and April 9 at the college premises. Members from the four houses like Shakespeare, Shaw, Shelly and Spencer participated. Nearly 338 participants enthusiastically took part in all the events. The students were evaluated for their confidence, stage presence, teamwork, strategies, co-ordination, creativity, presentation skills and choreography. Students exhibited their talents and amazed the judges with their extraordinary performance. Some of the On-stage events are I’ve got the Rhythm (Solo Dance), Dance – Versity (Group Dance), Acoustics (Instrumental Unplugged), Tap yourfeet (Solo Singing) and Vocal affinity (Group Singing).
The Chief Guest for the Inaugural Ceremony was Alex Samuel Jenito (Music Producer, Acappella Arranger, Sound Engineer).
Students also put up Mehendi stalls. However, everybody enjoyed the Alpha Bazaar and highly appreciated the organizers and the students, a press release said. The young entrepreneurs gained maximum profit and the consumers felt happy.
There were off stage events like Food without fire, Hand art, Shutter Up (Photography), Mehendi, Pencil Sketching, Rangoli, Assemblage and Fruits and Vegetable carving. Each of the houses put up stalls as part of Alpha Fest’s Alpha Bazaar. Both the shifts actively participated in bringing different stalls like organic products, Handcrafts, Mobile accessories, Fancy items and other accessories. Bakery products, Chat items, Ice cream, Fresh Juice, Chicken Biriyani, Shawarma, Veg Rice and Noodles were the special items in the food stall.
The overall championship for the year was bagged by Shakespeare house. Spenser house won the second place and the third place was secured by Shaw house. Congratulations to all the winners, participants and organizers who participated and made the event a huge success.
