Grandmaster D. Gukesh Std.10 of Velammal Vidyalaya, Mel Aynambakkam triumphed winning the Silver with a cash award of Rs. 5 lakhs at the Senior National Chess Championship-2022 held in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh recently.
Gukesh represented Tamilnadu at this national level event, wherein, heinished joint winner and had tiebreaks with a score of 8.5 out of 11 points ensnaring the Trophy.
