Saveetha College of Occupational Therapy (SIMATS), Thandalam, hosted a National Conference titled “Reimagining Independence-Innovative Management for Degenerative Disorders” on September 10. The event was organized by Principal Dr. Arun Kumar Malayappan, Organizing Secretary Dr. Punitha, Conference Coordinator Dr. Vikeraman, and the college faculty, the event brought together nearly 400 participants from institutions nationwide. Attendees gained key insights into multidisciplinary rehabilitation and cutting-edge strategies for fostering independence through expert sessions led by Dr. S. Vinothkanna, Dr. Kishoremoy Das, Dr. Sowmya Sampathkumar, and Linda Priyadarshini on neurodegeneration, dementia, cognitive rehabilitation, and communication. Alongside the main talks, Dr. Padmasree coordinated poster and quiz competitions, concluding with prize distributions for the winners.
