Seva Rathna award for Educational Service

Dr. Raghunathan Ramarao, Founder of the Kalpavriksha Free Tuition Center located at SV Nagarathinammal Colony, West Mambalam, was recently conferred with the ‘Seva Rathna award’ by the Kalamandir Foundation at a function held in Hyderabad. In recognition of his dedicated service to the community, the trustees of the Kalamandir Foundation also donated Rs. 50,000 to support the operations of his tuition center.
A former DGM of Finance at CAIRN India Limited, Dr. Ramarao established the Kalpavruksha Seva Trust in 2012. Under his leadership, the trust currently operates 36 centers, including one digital center in Chennai and 35 digital tuition centers in Srimushnam village. These initiatives serve over 750 students and have successfully trained 33 women entrepreneurs.
Dr. Ramarao is committed to holistic development, conducting daily sessions that include motivational classes, educational institution visits, corporate office tours, and cultural heritage programs. The center provides free tuition and computer classes to underprivileged students, with sessions held daily from 6am to 7am and from 5.30pm to 8.30pm.
