Jagannath Rath Yatra held on July 17
ISKCON, Mugalivakkam an outpost of ISKCON Chennai, conducted its very first Jagannath Rath Yatra on July 17 successfully, from a location in Mugalivakkam travelling a distance of more than 3 kms and concluding at the Sri Mugalesswarar temple, Mugalivakkam. A very eager devotee crowd of more than 1000 had assembled at the starting point and there was a rousing kirtan of Hare Krishna Mahamantra resounded everywhere. There were local leaders of the community as chief guests. In the beginning an aarti was performed and there was an address by the chief guest, the rath moved around 4pm, pulled by all the eager devotees, and after winding through several roads in Mugalivakkam, the rath eventually reached its destination at Sri Mugalesswarar temple. The Lordships were dismounted from the Rath and they occupied the mandapam inside the temple. They gave darshan to more than 2000 eager visitors. There was a grand bhoga offering to the Lord and aarti. A dinner prasadam was served to all the visitors, numbering more than 1500. This way, the whole program was concluded very successfully by the mercy of Sri Sri Jagannath Baladeva and Subhadra devi.
