ISKCON celebrates Sri Jagannath Rath Yatra
ISKCON, Chennai and its major centres across the city are pleased to announce a series of grand Sri Jagannath Rath Yatra celebrations in July 2026, bringing the mercy and blessings of Lord Jagannath, Lord Baladeva and Subhadra Devi to devotees, residents and the public across Chennai.
Sri Jagannath Rath Yatra is one of the most joyful and spiritually significant festivals, during which the Lord comes out on his beautifully decorated chariot to bless everyone. The celebrations will include Rath processions, Harinam Sankirtan, kirtan, arati, cultural programs and prasadam distribution.
ISKCON Anna Nagar Rath Yatra – July 16
For the first time, ISKCON Anna Nagar will celebrate the sacred Rath Yatra on the same day as the world-renowned Rath Yatra in Puri, on July 16 (Thursday). The procession will commence from Y Block, No. 57, 8th Street, Anna Nagar. V.K. Ramkumar, MLA of Anna Nagar, will flag off the chariot carrying their Lordships Sri Jagannath, Baladeva and Subhadra Devi. The Rath will proceed through the residential streets from Y Block to U Block, giving residents and the public the opportunity to receive darshan and participate in congregational chanting.
ISKCON T. Nagar Rath Yatra – July 16
ISKCON T. Nagar, an outpost of ISKCON Chennai, will celebrate Sri Jagannath Rath Yatra on July 16 (Thursday) from 3pm onwards. The Rath will begin from Ashok Nagar 9th Avenue, near Government Girls High School, and proceed through key streets including 6th Avenue, 7th Avenue, Balakrishnan Street, Thambaiah Road, Lake View Road, Ram Colony Road, 10th Avenue and Govindan Road, ending at Vetri Krishnan Kalyana Mandapam. The mandapam program will include kirtan, Tamil drama, Chief Guest address, Maha Arati and dinner prasadam.
ISKCON Mugalivakkam Rath Yatra – July 17
ISKCON Chennai combined Rath Yatra festival at Mugalivakkam will be celebrated on July 17 (Friday), with the blessings of H.H. Bhanu Swami Maharaj. This combined program of Chettiaragaram, Mugalivakkam and Valasaravakkam outposts will be held from 3.30pm to 6.30pm, starting from 4, Kannammal Street, Guruswamy Nagar, Madhanandapuram, Mugalivakkam, near Amma Unavagam, and ending at Mugaleeshwar Temple, Mugalivakkam.
ISKCON Chennai ECR Rath Yatra – July 19
ISKCON Chennai will celebrate Sri Jagannath Rath Yatra on July 19 (Sunday), beginning at 3pm. The procession will start near Thangamayil Jewellery, Chinna Neelankarai, and proceed towards ISKCON Temple ECR, where special programs will continue at the temple. The festival will be graced with the blessings of H.H. Jayapataka Swami Maharaj and H.H. Bhanu Swami Maharaj. H.G. Balarama Govinda Das, Chairman of Thangamayil Jewellers, will be one of the chief guests.
