The Second Nursing STAR Summit 2026, held under the umbrella of the Third Health Sciences
STAR Summit, was successfully organized with the support by Management Chancellor Dr.N.M Veeraiyan, the visionary leader, Vice chancellor and Registrar mam, Faculties and Students of the constituent colleges of SIMATS at Marutham Hall, Saveetha Medical College. The inaugural ceremony commenced at 9am in the esteemed presence of the Chief Guests, Dr. Bharat Pareek, Founder and CEO, Vision Health Sciences Publications, Mohali, Punjab, and M.R. Dhanesh Kumar, Director, Mavericks Healthcare, Chennai. The programme began with Tamil Thai Vazhthu, followed by the ceremonial lamp lighting and welcome address by Prof. Dr. R. Vijayalakshmi, Principal, and Saveetha College of Nursing. The STAR Summit report was presented by Prof. Dr. S. Prathap, Principal, Saveetha College of Physiotherapy. Dr. Ashwani Kumar, Vice Chancellor, SIMATS, addressed the gathering and officially released the STAR Summit Souvenir comprising over 2,600 research abstracts. During the ceremony, Dr. P. Thenmozhi and Dr. S. Maragatham of Saveetha College of Nursing were honoured with the “Best Outstanding Research Guides” award for their exceptional mentorship. A total of 235 nursing research abstracts were presented across 12 stalls by undergraduate and postgraduate nursing students. Each presentation underwent a rigorous evaluation process by external and internal faculty experts based on predefined assessment criteria. Awards were conferred for the best presentations in each stall, along with overall undergraduate and postgraduate categories. The valedictory session was conducted independently by SCON, during which participation certificates and prizes were distributed. Dr. Bharat Pareek sponsored cash awards for the overall winners, with Rs.5,000 for first prize and Rs.2,500 for second prize in both UG and PG categories. The summit concluded successfully with a vote of thanks and the National Anthem, reflecting the institution’s commitment to fostering research excellence and academic innovation.
