Educational Expedition

Saveetha Hospitality Institute – Food & Tourism (SHIFT), Thandalam, organized an educational expedition to Kailasa Kona Waterfalls and Thotti Kona Waterfalls on May 14. The expedition aimed to provide practical exposure in sustainable tourism and environmental conservation. A total of 15 students and 3 faculty members participated in the visit from the Thandalam campus.
Students explored biodiversity, watershed conservation, and natural resource protection at Kailasa Kona Waterfalls. Interactive sessions highlighted environmental awareness, cleanliness, and pollution control.
At Thotti Kona Waterfalls, students learned about sustainable tourism and waste management practices. The visit also focused on responsible travel behaviour and eco-friendly tourism activities. Students gained practical knowledge about environmental responsibility and ethical tourism practices.
Faculty members appreciated the active participation and learning interest shown by the students. Overall, the expedition was a successful and enriching educational experience for all participants.
