Gueridon Craft Workshop

Saveetha Hospitality Institute – Food & Tourism (SHIFT), SIMATS University, Thandalam, conducted Gueridon Craft Workshop on April 25. The session was led by Deepak Nataraj, Principal of Koshys Institute of Hotel Management, who served as the resource person.
The workshop focused on the art of gueridon service, a refined style of food preparation and presentation performed at the guest’s table. It was conducted for both first-year and second-year students, providing them with valuable exposure to professional service techniques. The session included live demonstrations of classic gueridon and flambé dishes such as Pineapple Platter, Papaya Boat, Crepe Suzette, Banana Flambé, Fraises Romanoff, and Cocktail de Crevettes, showcasing essential skills like carving, plating, and flambéing.
Nataraj shared insightful knowledge on equipment handling, safety measures, presentation, and guest interaction. His engaging delivery effectively combined theory with practical demonstration, helping students understand the precision and elegance required in gueridon service.
The workshop was highly interactive, enabling students to gain hands-on experience and build confidence. Overall, it was an enriching session that enhanced students practical skills and prepared them for real-world hospitality environments.
