Alpha Arts and Science College celebrates Placement Day

Alpha Arts and Science College, Porur, celebrated Placement Day 2026 on April 11 in its premises. The Chief Guest for the occasion was Gunaseelan GS, Director, HCL Tech, a seasoned Talent Management professional with over 19 years of leadership experience in the IT and ITES industry. The programme was organized under the guidance of the Chairperson, Suja George, whose constant encouragement and vision have been instrumental in strengthening the institution’s placement ecosystem. The Joint Director, George John, Anna John, and Principal, Dr. A. Sivasankar, graced the occasion and added great value to the celebration. Heads of Departments, faculty members, proud parents, and students were also present in large numbers, making the event truly memorable.
The formal programme began with an invocation to the Almighty, followed by Bible Reading and Tamil Thai Vazhthu, setting a solemn and graceful tone for the celebration. The Welcome Address was delivered by Dr. Vinolyn Vijaykumar, Head of the Department, B.Sc Computer Science, who warmly welcomed the dignitaries, parents, and students, and highlighted the significance of the day as a celebration of dreams, perseverance, and family pride.
The event continued with the Training Report, presented by Dr. Sathya R, Head of the Department, BCA and Placement Convener, who shared the institution’s year-long training initiatives, aptitude development programmes, soft skills sessions, and interview readiness efforts that contributed significantly to the placement success of the batch.
The Placement Report was then presented by A. Rakeshkumar, Manager – Training and Placements, Alpha Group of Institutions, showcasing the outstanding achievements of the 2026 batch. During the academic year, the Training and Placement Cell successfully conducted 41 campus and off-campus drives, spanning diverse sectors such as IT, ITES, BFSI, Healthcare, Core, and Media. As on April 11, students had secured 903 offer letters, with 442 students successfully placed. The report also highlighted the institution’s major recruiter partnerships, including TCS, Data Pattern, Infinite Computers, Movate, City Union Bank, NTrust, News7, SoftRate, Sutherland Global, K-12 Techno Services, Asahi India Glass Ltd., Adams Bridge, Omega Healthcare, and many other esteemed organizations.
A significant milestone of the year was the achievement of 100% placements in B.Sc Electronics with Artificial Intelligence, B.Sc Computer Science Shift I and B.Sc Computer Science Shift II. In addition, B.Com General Shift II, BCA Shift I, BBA Shift II, and BCA Shift II crossed the 95% placement milestone, while the remaining departments recorded more than 75% placements, reflecting the strong placement culture and consistent efforts across the institution. This was followed by the presidential address by the chairperson, Suja George, whose inspiring words emphasized the importance of discipline, perseverance, gratitude to parents, and making the most of the first career opportunity.
The chief guest, Gunaseelan GS, then delivered an inspiring and highly relatable address to students and parents. His speech focused on the importance of life skills, communication, discipline, and the value of staying committed to an organization for at least two years, encouraging students to treat their first job as the foundation of long-term career growth. His practical guidance deeply resonated with the audience, especially parents from humble backgrounds who saw the event as a milestone in their children’s lives.
The event also served as a platform to recognize the collective efforts behind the institution’s placement success. Mementos were presented to Heads of Departments, Placement Coordinators, and Supporting Staff members, acknowledging their contribution towards the successful placement achievements of the 2026 batch.
One of the most emotional highlights of the day was the offer letter distribution ceremony, where students received their offer letters on stage in the proud presence of their parents. The sight of several parents becoming emotional while holding their children’s offer letters created a deeply touching atmosphere, symbolizing the transformation of family aspirations into reality.
The ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to the management, chief guest, faculty members, parents, recruiter partners, and students. The programme ended with the National Anthem, leaving behind a sense of pride, gratitude, and hope for the future.
Placement Day 2026 stood as a celebration not merely of offers and statistics, but of parental sacrifices, student perseverance, faculty commitment, and the institution’s unwavering dedication to shaping successful careers.
