Thuvakkam Concludes Batch II of Fundamentals of Project Design

Thuvakkam (NGO, Valasaravakkam) announced the successful completion of Batch II of its flagship course, “Fundamentals of Project Design,” marked by a valedictory ceremony held at Madras School of Social Work (MSSW), Chennai.
The occasion was graced by distinguished guests, including Satchithananda Valan Michael, Head of Field Office at the UNHCR, and Dr. Raja Samuel, Principal of MSSW, whose presence added significance to the celebration.
The “Fundamentals of Project Design” module was conceptualized to bridge the gap between academic learning and real-world field practices in the social sector. Batch II featured a comprehensive structure of 10 sessions, led by experienced professionals and sector veterans, offering learners practical insights into project design, implementation, and impact. Aligned with its learner-centric and flexible approach, Thuvakkam Module 2.0 witnessed the successful participation of 31 learners, reflecting strong engagement and commitment from aspiring social sector professionals.
The valedictory ceremony also saw the presence of an esteemed panel of tutors, including Uma Viswanathan, a veteran CSR professional Ramasubramaniam G, Founder & CLO of Talent Quest for India, Antony Stephen, Head of Partnerships at MSSW Chennai and Balamurugan S, Executive Associate – Community Development at Thuvakkam. Their participation underscored the collaborative spirit and knowledge-sharing ethos of the program.
Building on this momentum, Thuvakkam also announced the launch of Thuvakkam Module Edition 3, marking the next phase of its learning initiative. The upcoming edition aims to further strengthen capacity-building efforts and nurture a new generation of socially conscious leaders and changemakers.
Thuvakkam extends its heartfelt congratulations to all learners of Batch II and reaffirms its commitment to empowering individuals with the knowledge and tools required to design impactful social interventions.
