Thuvakkam hosts Roundtable Conference to celebrate International Women’s Day
On occasion of International Women’s Day, Thuvakkam (NGO, Valasaravakkam) organized “Give to Gain-Connecting with Possibilities”-powered by Genesys, a multi-stakeholder roundtable conference held on March 13 at the South India Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Chennai, bringing together women leaders, professionals and changemakers from diverse sectors to deliberate on key social issues and explore collaborative solutions.
The event was graced by the esteemed Chief Guest, Seema Agrawal, IPS, Director General of Police and Director of Fire & Rescue Services, whose presence underscored the importance of leadership and public service in advancing gender equity.
The conference also featured distinguished guest speakers, including Manimoorthy, Assistant Vice President at RRD, and Vijayapriya, Senior Director at Cognizant, who inspired participants with their insights on leadership, professional growth and social responsibility.
Designed as an interactive roundtable forum, the Give to Gain conference brought together women from various sectors-including CSR leaders, doctors, professors, activists, software developers, students, and professionals from the trans community-to engage in meaningful dialogue and collaborative problem-solving.
The discussions were structured across five thematic domains addressing key societal challenges -Navigating the Education Spectrum, Women in Governance, Comprehensive Healthcare Prospects, Women-Centric Environment Stewardship and Employment & Livelihood Pathways.
Each thematic group was represented by a “SheLead,” who facilitated discussions with five Catalysts within their team. The SheLead representatives presented key insights, challenges, and proposed solutions emerging from their respective discussions to the larger forum, enabling collective reflection and cross-sectoral collaboration.
The conference aimed to foster actionable dialogue and create pathways for partnership-driven impact. By bringing together stakeholders from multiple disciplines and lived experiences, the initiative emphasized the importance of collaborative leadership and inclusive participation in addressing pressing social issues affecting women and communities. The Give to Gain roundtable stands as a significant step toward strengthening networks of women leaders and change agents, setting the stage for future initiatives focused on empowerment, policy dialogue, and sustainable social development.
Through this initiative, Thuvakkam continues its commitment to creating platforms that encourage collective action, amplify diverse voices, and drive meaningful change in society.
