Alpha Arts and Science College, Porur, The Department of Tamil –I in association with IQAC , as part of the Languages club MUSES conducted Competitions in Tamil, English Hindi and French to commemorate the International Mother Language Day (Feb.21) in Association with, Bank of Baroda on Feb.27 in college seminar hall.
Reetha Govindan ,Senior Manager-Rajbasha , Bank of Baroda, Chennai has given her consent to conduct the competitions and winners to be awarded First , Second, Third place and a consolation prize based on the number of participants in each language sponsored by Bank of Baroda, also to be present for the prize distribution in the month of February 2026 . About 112 participants from both shifts participated in the competitions conducted in Tamil, English, Hindi and French.
The chief guest, Reetha Govindan,Senior Manager-Rajbasha , Bank of Baroda, Chennai, in her special address, revealed how Language study impacts the career growth and the strategies to follow to be successful in a multilingual Nation. She also impressed the students to be aware of the cybercrimes in the transactions of the bank in the day-to-day activities. Understand the language nuances and the leveraging tech for better security. Principal Dr.Sivasankar Arumugam presided over the programme and presented the memento to the chief guest .Prizes and the participation certificates were presented to the winners and participants. 22 students received the prizes for the various competitions conducted by the language department.
