On occasion of 77th Republic Day, Lions Club of Chennai Wisdom at West Mambalam, provided various welfare assistance including Sarees, Bed Spreads, Sewing machines – 5 nos. to 200 underprivileged women and differently abled persons by J. Karunanidhi M.L.A. (T. Nagar Constituency).
In the event Rs. 200/- cash prize was presented to all the  200 participants by Saisankara Panchapakesan, the founder chairperson of Chennai Sai Thunai Matrimonials, an organisation providing  exclusive free matrimony services for differently abled for more than 25 years. 
Lion Dr. Aavin K. Gopinath, State General Secretary of the Tamil Nadu Udavikkaram Association for the Welfare of Differently abled(TNUAWDA), Lion Dr. M. Murugan, Founder of Lions Club of Chennai Wisdom and other dignitaties  participated and graced the ocassion. 
Earlier, a free eye screening camp was conducted by Sankara Nethralaya Hospitals.
