Dr.Republica Sridhar (Chairman, the RMD Group of Hospitals) organized the 2nd National Conference, Geripalcon 2026, in view of the increasing number of cancer patients and the growing need for coordinated elderly care and palliative medicine. During the event, intensive services such as emergency medicine, ICU, step-down ICU, and home-based care were specifically highlighted.
The conference was inaugurated by Padma Shri Dr. V.S. Natrajan (Founder and Chairman Geriatric Foundation), Dr. Uma Sekar (Vice Chancellor of Sri Ramachandra Institute of Higher Education and Research) graced the occasion as the chief guest.
The event saw the presence of several eminent personalities, including Dr. Geetha Joshi, President, IAPC (Indian Association of Palliative Care), Dr. Raghu S. Thotta (Secretary, IAPC), M.A.M.M. Annamalai Chettiar (Chancellor and Scientist, RARE Life Care, Chennai),

During this two-day conference, 50 senior doctors presented their insights, followed by various panel discussions. The sessions focused on highlighting new trends and innovations in the fields of Geriatrics, Oncology, and Palliative Care.
The concluding and award ceremony was attended by Kumar Vembu (Founder and CEO, Mudhal Partners), Prof. K. Sembulingam (Visiting Professor, Datta Meghe Medical College, Maharashtra), Dr. Aruna Viswanathan (Head of Department, Onco Surgery, Vikram Hospital, Coimbatore), Dr. Gauthaman (Medical Director, RMD Group), S. The conference concluded with a collective resolution to further strengthen the quality of healthcare by adopting innovative practices in geriatric and palliative medicine.
