Honouring the life and legacy of Thiyagi Parthasarathy

In remembrance of the birthday of the Late Veteran Thiyagi Parthasarathy, who served as the President of the Chennai district Congress committee and as the Deputy Mayor of Chennai, a welfare meeting took place on January 2, 2026. Thiyagi Parthasarathy had a close relationship with Karmaveerar Kamarajar, Kakkanji Baktavachalam and other prominent Congress leaders.
The meeting was organized by Gnanavel, the son of Thiyagi Parthasarathy, who is the General Secretary of the Freedom Fighters and Successors Association, at his residence at Parthasarathi Illam, Lake View area, Chennai.
A delicious lunch was served to all attendees prior to the start of the meeting.
K.S. Alagiri, Former Member of Parliament, Former MLA, and Former President of the Tamil Nadu Congress Committee, presided over the event. Pon Radhakrishnan, an AICC member and Patron of the Tamil Nadu Sudandira Poratta Veerargal Varisugal Nala Sangam, the Vice President of the TNCC also adorned the stage with a few other dignitaries.
Descendants of freedom fighters were present at the meeting.
The introductory address was given by Harris.
The dignitaries presented brief yet impactful speeches about Thiyagi Parthasarathy, recalling his noble contributions.
The chief guest distributed sarees, dhotis, and towels to the sanitation workers.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the chief guest honoured the descendants of the freedom fighters with memorable gifts bringing the function to a graceful close.
