Saveetha organises National level conference

Saveetha College of Occupational Therapy, Thandalam organised a National level conference on Dec.19 with great enthusiasm. The event was graced by the chief guest, P. Fermi Vidhya, Joint Director, Department for the Welfare of the Differently Abled Persons, Tamil Nadu, and Dr. Sheeja Varghese, Registrar of Saveetha Institute of Medical and Technical Sciences (SIMATS).
The Joint Director appreciated the consistent efforts and support extended by Saveetha College of Occupational Therapy towards the empowerment of persons with disabilities and its collaboration with the Differently Abled Welfare Department. As part of the awareness initiative, a pamphlet on Government Schemes in Tamil Nadu for Persons with disabilities was released during the conference.
Excellence Awards were presented to Dr. T. Jagadesan for Academic Excellence, Dr. Ravishankar for Excellence in Entrepreneurship, and Dr. P. Punitha for her significant contributions to Research. Students actively participated in the Scientific Poster Competition, and eminent speakers delivered insightful sessions on Holistic Health Care for Persons with Disabilities.
Nearly 500 professionals and students from various colleges across India participated in the conference. Dr. Arun Kumar Malayappan, Professor and Principal (Organizing Chairperson), Dr. P. Punitha (Organizing Secretary), faculty members, student office bearers, and students were present in the the conference.
