Diwali celebration with differently abled persons
Tamilnadu Udavikkaram Association for the Welfare of Differently Abled organized an event on Oct.18 for celebrating Diwali with differently abled persons. Auditor T.A.P. Varadakutti, State President of the Association presided over the event and explained the purpose. Ln. Dr. Aavin Gopinath, State General Secretary of the Association welcomed the gatherings.
Dr. N. Panchapakesan, long term advisor of Udavikkaram and Founder of Chennai Sai Sankara, Chennai Sai Muruga & Chennai Sai Thunai Matrimonials (For Differently Abled) was the chief guest of the event. He took the maximum initiative for organizing the event in a grand manner. In his address while singing the motivational song of “Thangathile oru kurai irunthalum”, he expressed his deep concern for the challenges faced by the community and assured them of his full support which was welcomed with big cheers. Along with other dignitaries he distributed the gifts consisting of new dresses, sumptuous snacks and welfare items. In addition he made it a point to extend cash gift of Rs.500 to each person by greeting them.
Latha Rajendran (Principal, Dr. MGR Special School for Hearing Impaired), R. Thangam (State President of DMK wing of Differently Abled) rendered special address, Usha (DGM, IOCL Retd), Sri Sankara Narayanan (DGM IOCL Retd), Ramki (Publisher, Malarvanam, Paattum Bharathamum and Mixed Bag Monthly Magazines) extended their greetings. Almost all the office bearers were present in the event.
The programme was facilitated by Vice President Ravi. Earlier in the beginning K.G. Jawahar, Novelist, entertained the audience with his unique bulbul dhara music. Crackers were burnt with rocking sound along with Happy Diwali cheers by one and all. All the participants left with lot of happiness and gratefulness.
