On celebration of 79th Independence Day, Lions Club of Golden Chariot (Mugalivakkam, Chennai), VGN Lakshmi Nagar Welfare Association and walking Friends in association with Kauvery Hospital organised a Free Diabetic camp with Doctor consultation for public on August 15, at Kalaimagal Street Park, VGN Lakshmi Nagar, Mugalivakkam. 
Past District Governor Pmjf Lion Er T.M.Gunaraja distributed tree saplings for the public, notebooks and stationaries for the students. Rice bags distributed for sanitation workers. Breakfast also arranged for the public.
