Thirukkural in Comics book launch

On July 20th, 2025, a dream seeded in an 8th-grade classroom blossomed into a powerful milestone as Aaradhana Umesh(Std.11, residing in Porur) launched her debut book, “Thirukkural in Comics”, at the Friendship Children’s Home in Siruganur, Tirchy. The event was more than a book release – it was a heartfelt celebration of language, values, and the power of visual storytelling to connect with young minds.
Aaradhana’s innovative comic adaptation of the Thirukkural transforms ancient couplets into engaging visual narratives that children can smile at, relate to, and understand. Her goal is to make the moral teachings of Thiruvalluvar accessible and enjoyable for the next generation.
The launch was graced by eminent guests Dr. Abdul Mohammed Ali Jinnah and Dr. Thamarai, whose thoughtful reviews brought rich insight and encouragement. Aaradhana expressed deep gratitude to Dr. R. Lakshmi Priya, whose vision and support helped shape the project, and to Pachyderm Tales for turning her idea into a beautifully crafted printed book. Special thanks were also extended to Voice Trust, whose mission of making education and culture accessible to children aligned perfectly with the book’s spirit.
In a quiet yet moving tribute, Aaradhana dedicated the heart of the book to her parents, calling them the soul of her work. Their love, values, and steady encouragement, she shared, formed the foundation on which every page was built.
The event was marked by emotion, joy, and a sense of purpose. Children at the home enthusiastically engaged with the book proof that centuries-old wisdom can still inspire when told in the right way.
As Aaradhana noted, this may be just the beginning of the journey, but it’s a moment she will carry forward forever with gratitude, hope, and a passion for sharing knowledge.
