Worship of Aadi Pooram

Aadi Pooram is celebrated on July 28, marking the birth anniversary of Sri Andal born in Srivilliputtur. She is the incarnation of Bhooma Devi / Lakshmi. 
She is known for her devotion to Bhagavan Vishnu, particularly in his form as Bhagavan Ranganatha. Special pujas and archanas, House Rituals, Temple festivities are held with joy & celebration.
On this day, Goddess Parvathi is also worshipped, and it’s believed that she descends to earth to bless her devotees. Aadi Pooram is observed as Valaikappu, a ceremony where glass bangles are offered to Goddess Parvathi, symbolizing femininity and fertility, where women offer colorful glass bangles to the Goddess, which are then distributed as prasadam. 
Aadi Pooram holds special significance for women, particularly those seeking a good husband, children, protection and overall wellbeing of the family.
