Women Empowerment Team launches training initiative for tailoring and Aari work

Under the leadership of Rtn. Dr. Jayashree Kadambi as the Chairperson for Women Empowerment, Rotary International District 3234’s Women Empowerment Team launched the “Women’s Revival” program, a training initiative for tailoring and Aari work, at Danirasa Foundation in Pattabhiram. The program aims to empower women through skill development and economic independence, with a goal to train over 500 women by June 2026.
The inaugural ceremony was attended by esteemed guests, including Kalyananthy Sachithananthan, Member of Widow and Destitute Women Welfare Board, Government of Tamil Nadu, and Rtn. Usha Saraogi, District First Lady.
During the ceremony, inspiring women were honored with the awards. Kalyananthy and Indupriya received the Inspiring Social Worker Award 2025. Rtn. Usha Saraogi received the Most Inspiring Woman Award 2025.
The first batch comprised 40 women for tailoring and 20 women for Aari work, with 20 Aari work kits distributed to beneficiaries. The event concluded with a token of appreciation from Danirasa Foundation, where Indupriya, Managing Trustee, presented beautifully woven bags made by program beneficiaries to the Rotarians.
