Shree Agarwal Sabha hosts Tamilnadu State Individual Chess Championship for specially abled

Shree Agarwal Sabha successfully organized the Tamilnadu State Individual Chess Championship for specially abled 2025 in collaboration with the Chess Federation for physically disabled and Tamilnadu Physically Disabled Chess Federation. The two-day championship took place on May 31 and June 1 at SRK Khemka Agarwal Sabha Bhavan, Shanthi Colony, Annanagar.
Around 30 chess players from across Tamilnadu participated in the tournament, showcasing their skills and sportsmanship. The event was graced by prominent dignitaries, including Vijay Goyal (President, Shree Agarwal Sabha), Bal Govind Gupta (Gen. Secretary, Shree Agarwal Sabha), Anil Agarwal (Sports Committee Chairman), Kalpana Bhalotia (Project Chairperson) & Ashish Gupta.
Also present were Baskaran (President, Chess Federation for Physically Disabled), Anand Babu (Gen. Secretary, Chess Federation for Physically Disabled), Suresh Agarwal (Treasurer), Gopinath (State Gen. Sec of TN Udavikkaram Association), T. Deepak Kumar Gupta (State Deputy Gen. Sec of TN Udavikkaram Association), Jeyavel (President, Udavikkaram Tiruvallur District) and social activist Aju Kumar.
The championship aimed to promote chess among specially-abled individuals and provide a platform for them to showcase their talent. The winners of this event will qualify to participate in the National-level championship, providing them with an opportunity to represent Tamilnadu and compete at the highest level. Shree Agarwal Sabha’s efforts to promote inclusive sports and empower specially abled individuals through chess were evident throughout the event. The organization congratulates all the participants and winners, wishing them the best for their future endeavors.
