The Dance India Best Teacher Award

Dharani Ramakrishna (Founder of Saraswathi Natyalaya) received ‘The Dance India Best Teacher Award’ from The Dance India magzine in a function held on May 24 at Bharathiya Vidya Bhavan, Mylapore.
The award presented and preside over by K.V. Gunasekaran (Founder, Tamilnadu Film Research Foundation), X.A.Jeyaprakash (Deputy Superintendent of Police, DGP office), A.Venkatakrishnan (Deputy Superintendent of Police, DGP office), B.R.Vikram Kumar ( Editor In chief, The Dance India magazine) and Kesavaraj Balakrishnan (Tamilnadu State Cordinator, The Dance India magazine).
Dharani is a professional bharatanatyam dancer and has been teaching the art for over 30 years. She has performed hundreds of Bharthanatyam programs in India and abroad, and has received awards from leading organisations. Many of her students have gone on to become accomplished bharatanatyam dancers.
