Alpha Arts and Science College, Porur, celebrated its annual college day celebrations on April 12 at 5.30pm in the college premises. The chief guest for the occasion was C. Siva Kumar(Director, Roots Industries Private Limited). The college day programmes commenced under the guidance of the chairperson of Alpha Group of Educational Institutions, Dr.Grace George. The Vice Chairperson, Suja George graced the occasion. Principal, Dr. A. Sivasankar, Vice Principal, Dr.Benita Merlin, Coordinator of Shift II, Dr.Tamizharasi were the other dignitaries present in the event.
The formal programme began with an invocation to the almighty by the alpha choir. This was followed by the welcome address by J. Richard, President, Student Forum, Shift I. In a speech that resonated with motivation and insight, the Vice Chairperson, Suja George encouraged the students of Alpha to harness the full potential of their college years; she urged them to strive towards empowerment and enlightenment. The chief guest C. Siva Kumar, delivered an inspiring and thought-provoking speech focusing on values that shape personal excellence and leadership. Emphasizing the importance of health and regular exercise as the foundation of a strong leader, he also highlighted punctuality, honesty, and truthfulness as key traits. The event continued with a nostalgic journey through the academic year 2024-2025, as the annual report was presented by Principal, Dr. A.Sivasankar, in the form of an innovative audio-visual documentary, showcasing the myriad achievements and highlights of various departments and student clubs. The atmosphere was one of reflection and pride, as students and faculty celebrated the year’s accomplishments. The day also served as a platform to recognize excellence, with dignitaries presenting awards to students who had distinguished themselves in academics and general proficiency. The Cultural programme followed with a series of captivating cultural performances by the gifted Alphians enthralled the audience, showcasing their talent and creativity. The ceremony came to a close with a vote of thanks delivered by P. Sowmiya, President of the Student Forum, Shift II.
