Women’s Wellness Camp on world Health day

In connection with World Health Day, Saveetha College of Nursing, Saveetha Institute of Medical and Technical Sciences, organized a Women’s Wellness Camp on April 7 under the theme “Healthy Beginnings, Hopeful Futures.” The camp was held for underprivileged women from the tribal community at Bagath Singh Nagar, Veeraganallur Panchayat, Tiruttani Block, Tiruvallur District. The primary aim of the camp was to screen women of reproductive age for non-communicable diseases, specifically breast and cervical cancer. A total of 102 members of the general public benefited from the camp, with 30 women receiving clinical breast exams and cervical cancer screenings. Samples for HPV-DNA testing were collected free of charge and sent to Saveetha Medical College and Hospital. Additionally, counseling sessions were provided to the vulnerable population by the Integrated Counseling and Testing Center at Tiruttani Government Hospital. The team of SCON said, “We express our heartfelt gratitude to our Chancellor, Dr. N.M. Veeraiyan, and Pro Chancellor, Dr. V.
