Thakkar Bapa Vidyalaya Samithi, a premier Gandhian institution in Chennai, inaugurated the Skill Training Program in collaboration with the Tamil Nadu Apex Skill Development Centre for Automobile on April 2. The initiative aims to empower students with essential skills for self-employment and career growth.
The event was inaugurated by the chief guest S. Gomathi, Training Officer, Govt ITI, Guindy, who in her speech, motivated the trainees. Gnanamoorthy, ATO, Govt ITI, Guindy, briefed the students about various skill training programs and urged them to take full advantage of the opportunities available. P. Maruthi, Secretary, Thakkar Bapa Vidyalaya Samithi spoke about the institute’s history and explained the various programs being conducted in the institute.G. Panchamoorthy, ATO, extended a warm welcome to the gathering, while Muthukumar, MRAC Instructor, delivered the vote of thanks.
As part of the program, S. Lavanya, Tailoring Instructor, introduced the Basic Hand Embroidery Course, which teaches students fundamental embroidery stitches, pattern creation, and fabric design, fostering creativity and self-sufficiency. P. Deepa, Beautician Instructor, elaborated on the Basic Hair Stylist Course, covering hair cutting, styling, and basic hair care techniques to help students build a strong foundation in the beauty industry. This initiative reflects the institution’s commitment to skill development, equipping students with practical knowledge to enhance their employability and entrepreneurial potential. Applications are invited for the following program which will begin in June 2025.
