Rangoli competition held based on environmental theme

Rangoli competitions depicting the environmental theme was organised by Department of Environment and Climate Change as per guidance of ministry of environment forest and climate change Govt. of India in Vidyaratna School, Adyar by involving 145 students.
Thangaraj, Chennai district green committee member who inaugurated the competitions told that it’s the responsibility of every individual to take care of the environment.
National Green Corps (NGC) and Eco club students from 30 schools made rangoli using natural items like turmeric, sand, red sand sea sand, brick powder, green leaves and dry cow dung etc. and avoided chemicals totally.
The winners were honoured with solar lamps and merit certificates by Arivukkan Alagarasan, Professors Leena and Saranya. Earlier Mission Life pledge was administered to all the participants.
