Time to recognise the descendants of the freedom fighters
On the first Sunday of the month (January5), a gathering was held at 11am to honor the martyrs of the freedom struggle and the descendants from the Dharmapuri and Krishnagiri districts. This event took place in a private wedding hall located in Nallampally, Dharmapuri district. The meeting was chaired by Kamalika Kamaraj, alongside the martyrs Varadhan, Perumal, Paramashivan, Siddhasamy, Irusagaunder, and Srinivasan.
During this assembly, it was emphasized that the families of freedom struggle martyrs should be recognized as a national family. Proposals were made to ensure that the martyr’s pension, following the demise of the martyr and their spouse, be allocated to their children after they reach the age of 60. Additionally, it was suggested that free education be provided to the descendants of martyrs, along with a 10% preference in examinations conducted by the government recruitment commission.
The attendees urged the Tamil Nadu government to grant free housing plots, complimentary bus travel cards for the families, free medical benefit cards and to address various other demands of the families of freedom struggle martyrs.
The event saw participation from State Honorary Coordinator Sanmugavalli, along with individuals such as Krishnagiri Jayaprakash, Somasekaran, Chandran, Namakkal Kumarapalayam Selvaraj, Jhansi Rani, and representatives from Chennai, Vellore, Tirupattur, Salem, Namakkal, Tiruvannamalai, and Erode, all of whom are connected to the freedom struggle martyrs and their descendants.
