Inauguration of Thuvakkam’s Delhi-NCR office

Sasikanth Senthil, Honorable Member of Parliament from Thiruvallur constituency and former IAS officer, inaugurated the Delhi-NCR office of Thuvakkam, a social welfare non-profit organization, in Chhattarpur, New Delhi.
The inaugural event saw Sasikanth Senthil as the guest of honor, where he presided over the ceremonial lamp-lighting, symbolizing hope and eternal progress. Thuvakkam, a decade-old NGO operating across South India, focuses on three core domains: Environment, Education, and Humanity. With established branches in Hyderabad and Ramanathapuram, the organization is now expanding its operations into the aspirational regions of Northern India.
Speaking on the occasion, Krishna Kumar Suresh, Founder and President of Thuvakkam, emphasized the importance of this milestone. He stated “As part of our expansion strategy to reach aspirational regions in the northern part of the country, the Delhi-NCR office will serve as a critical hub for extending our services to a more diverse and widespread audience. This move will enable us to make a greater impact on society.”
Through this expansion, Thuvakkam aims to extend its initiatives across Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Maharashtra, and Gujarat, furthering its commitment to driving social and environmental change.
Notably, over the past 10 years, Thuvakkam has planted 180,000+ trees and created 45+ urban forests, maintaining these forests for two years until they reach a self-sustaining growth stage.
Thuvakkam, founded in 2014 by a group of passionate college students, derives its name from the Tamil word for Beginning. This reflects its mission to initiate change and inspire action within communities. Over a decade, the organization has evolved into a reputable NGO, consistently delivering impactful programs across its three core domains.
