The members of Devi Tulasi Ladies Club (Thirumoorthy Street, T.Nagar) donated Rs.15,000 as educational assistances to Maithri Educational Trust during their Diwali celebration held on Oct. 22 at their member residence at Vasan Street, T. Nagar.
The donation cheque was received by Rajaram Sreedhar (Founder of Maithri Educational Trust), who is running a trust since 1991 which provides financial assistance to needy children for their education. Trust is also helping children from poor and broken homes. The members of Devi Tulasi Ladies Club said that Club is 38 yrs old, started by few enthusiastic housewives in 1986.
The club promote skills among young children, conducted classes every year in summer, like cookery, art work, spoken English, handicrafts, beauty care, music etc.
They also helping needy children and mentally challenged children by giving cash and in kind for their betterment.
The club members participated in radio programmes was well appreciated.
