Velammal Vidyalaya, Alapakkam, students of Std.3, Std.4 and Std.5 brought the vibrant spirit of Kerala’s harvest festival, Onam. Dressed in traditional Kerala attire, they graced the school assembly with a heartwarming performance, showcasing their talents through special song and dance.
During the assembly, the significance of Onam-a celebration of prosperity, unity, and cultural heritage-was explained, reminding everyone of its deep-rooted traditions and values.
Adding to the festive atmosphere, a stunning and intricate Mega Poo Kolam (floral design) was created by both students and teachers. The colourful artwork, made with a variety of vibrant flowers, captured the essence of the season and stood as a symbol of creativity and teamwork.
The entire celebration not only immersed students in Kerala’s rich cultural heritage but also strengthened the bond of togetherness and joy within the school community.
