Thuvakkam (Valasaravakkam) NGO, a Chennai based Non Profit Organization is set to plant 3850 saplings engaging 385 Volunteers, aligning to Madras Day- celebrating the 385^th year of the city.
The event is scheduled at the Butterfly Forest in Taramani MRTS on Madras Day, ie., on the August 22 from 8am to 9.30am. The event also marks an addition of these 3850 saplings to our existing 170,000 trees that we have in and around Chennai, a press release said.
Over the decade, Thuvakkam has created over 45+ acres of Green cover in and around Chennai as a part of our Greenery initiative planting over 170,000+ saplings and maintaining- a testament to our commitment and resilience in building a sustainable green future.
