Art and Culture Department and Government Kavin Arts College, Chennai recently organized a painting market (exhibition cum sale) for 3 days at the Government Museum complex in Egmore to improve the livelihood of Tamil Nadu artists and Wood sculptors. It was inaugurated by Minister for Tamil Development, Information & Publicity M.P. Saminathan. One of the participants, Wood sculptor Srinivasa Rao of Srinivas Wood Works at Mugalivakkam presented his wood sword to the Minister who greatly appreciated his talent.
