Differently abled activist gets retirement
T. Vairamani, Differently abled Activist and State Deputy General Secretary of Tamilnadu Udavikkaram Association for the welfare of Differently abled (TNUAWDA) , Ashok Nagar has been retired from his TNEB services, as Accounts Supervisor.
A farewell party was organized to Vairamani by the TNEB Staff, at K.K. Nagar 110KV EB Sub Station Office, K. K. Nagar. in which the Divisional Executive Engineer’s, Assistant Executive Engineer’s, AE’s and Staff of TNEB and State office bearers and members of TNUAWDA participated and felicitated, appreciated the yeomen services of Vairamani and honoured him.
Vairamani’s both legs were affected by polio at the age of 3. He uses modified retrofitted scooter for his mobility for going to his office and outside from his residence and uses a special wheel chair for his mobility in the work place and at home.
He is a differently abled activist and a very good Social worker, serving for the cause of the differently abled persons for more than 25 years. He has helped several hundreds of differently abled people throughout TamilNadu to get their required assistive devices and providing them with necessary assistance. Disability is not a barrier to him in helping others. He has received Udavikkaram award, Sevarathna award and Achiever award from various organizations applauding the services rendered by him to the disabled. He has also been conferred with Honorary Doctorate in Social Work, by the World Tamil Classical University.
TNEB Engineer’s Velmurugan, Narasimhan, Sreedhar, Balamurugan and TNUAWDA State President Varadakutti, State Genl. Secy., K.Gopinath, Treasurer Nandakumar and many other dignitaries from TNEB and TNUAWDA participated in the event.
