In connection with International Water day, Korattur Aeri  Paadhugaappu Makkal Iyakkam had Organised for a Run for Water Marathon at Korattur Lake, Chennai.
The chief guest, Former Judge  of Madras High court  and former judicial member of the National Green Tribunal Justice  Dr.P.Jyothimani flagged  off the Run for Water Marathon Rally. He distributed appreciation cerificates to the Save Korattur Lake activist, School and College students and to the General Public who had  participated in the marathon.  Justice Jyothimani was the first judicial member to issue an injunction against sewage being let out of Korattur Lake in 2016.
After flagging off the marathon-Neerottam(way of water), Justice  Jothimani also  visited the spot where  untreated sewage is still being let into the lake by civic body  authorities. The lake which was originally more than 900 acres, is now only 400 acres due to encroachment.
