The memorial day of writer Jeyanthan is on Feb.7. Even after 14 years of his death, he is still alive in his writings. Frequent phone calls to speak about him and requests for reprint of his books prove this. Jeyanthans Creative Literature Award was established with the aim to introduce Jeyanthan to younger generation. Jeyanthan’s Chinthanai Koodal has been awarding good books in Tamil Literature for the past several years. Even today the Jeyanthan Literary Award has a high place in the world of Tamil literature.  It was Jayanthan’s feeling that a writer should be celebrated within his lifetime.
Books published in 2023 shall be sent for consideration. An award of Rs.10,000 will be given for one best book in each of the four categories i.e. short story, novel (non short-novel), poetry and drama. Last date for receipt of books is March 31, 2024. The names of selected books will be announced in two months. The names of the Juries will be announced along with the results.
