Homage paid to Philanthropist
Ln. R. P. Krishnamachari a Social Activist and Philanthropist aged 77 years old, expired on Jan.30 in his residence (Ashok Nagar) due to sudden cardiac arrest. He was the founder and chairperson of Tex- Biosciences, Pvt. Ltd., and Honorary Secretary of Single Teacher Schools and Swami Vivekanandha Rural Development society. He had constructed 980 Single Teacher Schools in 11 Districts of Tamilnadu and appointed 980 teachers in which 33000 students got benefitted so far by getting free education. He has also constructed 3600 new toilets in various villages in 7 districts of Tamilnadu especially for the usage of women. He has taken necessary initiatives and completed the Rejuvenation/cleaning of 90 ponds/lake including, Mylapore Chithiraikkulam pond.
Krishnamachari also received appreciation letters 3 times from the Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi, appreciating his noble services to the society. R. N. Ravi (Governor of Tamilnadu) awarded R. P. Krishnamachari with Best Social Worker Award in the Republic day function held on Jan.26 at Raj Bhavan. He is also the recipient of prestigious Tamil Vallal Award, constituted by Tamil Muttram organisation.
Based on the request kept to R.P. Krishnamachari by TNUAWDA, recently he has helped 2000 differently abled people who were very worsely affected by Michaung Cyclone and living in and around Chennai, Kanchipuram, Tiruvallur and Chenglepet districts, by distributing Michaung Cyclone flood relief kits with all essential groceries and rice for one month requirement. He has also helped thousands of Differently abled people for getting major surgeries.
State President of Tamilnadu Udavikkaram Association for the welfare of Differently abled (TNUAWDA) T.A.P. Varadakutti, State Genl. Secretary Gopinath and Dy. Genl. Secy., Deepak Kumar Gupta and other office bearers of TNUAWDA paid homage to the departed soul at his residence.
