Drawing competition held on National Clean Air program

The ministry of environment forest and climate change, Govt. of India 104 polluted cities are identified in our country and Thoothukudi, Chennai, Madurai and Trichy are in Tamil Nadu. Awareness rallies, human chain, workshops message on wheels involving school, college students and awareness run to minimise air pollution were conducted since November 2022 in various areas of the Chennai city.
In continuation of this mission to create awareness among school students, a drawing competition was conducted jointly by Department of Environment, TNPCB, Greater Chennai Corporation and Central Pollution control board by involving 275 students of National Green Corps (NGC) from 43 schools in North Chennai region.
Dr.Srinivasan (Health Education Officer, GCC) and Fr.Thomas (Headmaster) were bestowed cash prizes to best drawings.
Thangaraj (District Coordinator, NGC) demonstrated the various green good deeds to be adopted by individuals to control air pollution like usage of EVs, Cycles, Happy walks, Cloth bags and Biofuels etc.
A pledge was also taken in the event to minimise air pollution.
