B.M. Nirmala (Founder of Sri Art and Crafts, Residing in Kattupakkam) started her journey in the world of Art and Crafts during her school days, where she exhibited a deep-seated interest in creativity. She actively participated in craft competitions, laying the foundation for her craftsmanship. In 2007, she turned her passion into a profession, embarking on a remarkable journey of learning and skill development.
Nirmala’s expertise encompasses a wide spectrum of artistic domains. She offers classes in various forms of handmade jewellery, including fashion, terracotta, beads, and silk thread creations. Her painting repertoire spans acrylic, oil, watercolor, and more. She also delves into various crafts like paper, foil and clay work and specializes in the intricate Tanjore Painting on fabric.
Moreover, Nirmala’s dedication to nurturing young talents is commendable. She conducts free online classes for children, helping them discover their artistic potential. Her belief is that painting is a medium for expressing emotions and ideas, fostering an environment where creativity can flourish.
