The significant and auspicious Aksharabhyasam ritual was performed for the students of SV High Global School, Arumbakkam on October 24, solemnizing with a special pooja to Goddess Saraswathi and Lord Vinayaka. The children were guided to write their first letter using paddy, to mark the sacred and important step in a child’s education.
Aksharabhyasam is the ceremonial induction of a child into the world of education and marks an important milestone in every child’s life. An amalgamation of two terms, Akshara (alphabet) and Abhyasam (the study of), the ceremony symbolizes Vidyarambha, by seeking the blessings of the Almighty to assist the children in their academic journey.
Aksharabhyasam is scientific as it helps exercise a child’s motor skills, trains them to use their hands and fingers in coordination with their vision and mental ability to write effectively. It also unlocks their brain’s capacity to read, write and learn,which is fundamental for growth.
