Glory of the Navratri festival
Navratri is a joyous festival celebrated by everyone, irrespective of age group. During the Navratri festival, women folk worship the idols of the Gods in their houses.
This Navratri festival starts on the next day of Puratasi Amavasai and is celebrated for nine days as Navratri festival and the ninth day is celebrated as Saraswati Puja.
During these ten days, Sri Durga Devi is worshipped in the first three days, Sri Lakshmi Devi in the next three days and Sri Saraswati Devi in the last three days.
In the evenings, the housewives invite the children and ladies of their relatives and neighbourhood to their homes and present them with turmeric, kumkum, betel leaves, and gifts.
It is believed that both the giver and the receiver of this Tambulam will receive great blessings from the almighty.
