Inaugural of Chennai Students Readers Forum

Alpha Arts and Science College, Porur marked a significant milestone in its educational journey by inaugurating the Chennai Students Readers Forum and organizing a Workshop on Poetry recently. The event was graced by esteemed dignitaries, Manushya Puthiran (Chairman, Local Library Authority, Chennai) and Principal, Dr. A. Sivasankar. In addition Vice Principal, Dr. Benita Merlin and Co-ordinator of Shift II, Dr. K. Tamizharasi.
The program commenced with a solemn invocation to seek the blessings of the Almighty, followed by the rendition of the Tamil Thaai Vaazthu. The Welcome Address was delivered by S.Gayathri (II Year Biotech Department of Alpha Arts and Science College) who warmly welcomed all the dignitaries, faculty and students gathered for this momentous occasion.
As a token of appreciation and gratitude, Dr. Sivasankar, Principal presented a memento to the Chief Guest, Manushya Puthiran, in recognition of his invaluable support and presence. Dr. K. Tamizharasi, Shift II Coordinator introduced Manushya Puthiran, to the audience. In her introduction, she highlighted the Chief Guest’s exemplary contributions to the promotion of literature and poetry. Manushya Puthiran, Dr. A. Sivasankar, Dr. Benita Merlin, and Dr. K. Tamizharasi, along with other dignitaries, lit the lamp. To further enrich the cultural experience, an exhibition of students drawings depicting famous authors was arranged. These artworks celebrated literary luminaries and added a creative dimension to the event. Poetic renditions of a Tamil and English poem also formed part of the event.
The inauguration of the Chennai Students Readers Forum and the poetry workshop was a resounding success. It marked the college commitment to nurturing literary and intellectual pursuits among its students. Students were enthusiastic in knowing more about the Readers forum. As the forum and workshop set sail on this exciting journey, it is certain that they will play a pivotal role in fostering a love for reading and literature among the students of Chennai and beyond.
