Carnatic Awards

Rotary Club of Chennai Carnatic is part of the Rotary International District 3232 which comprises of all the Rotary Clubs in the Greater Chennai Metropolitan area. The Chennai Carnatic Awards were instituted in the year 2015 and have been recognising people in the field of business, entertainment, social work, defence, public service and sports.
Rotary Club of Chennai Carnatic has honoured 4 eminent women with life-time achievement awards recently. This year all the awardees were eminent Ladies of Chennai. These ladies have attained the highest glory in their respective professions and have impacted lives of thousands of people over the years.
The awardees were Brigadier Muthulaxmy(Retd)(Nurse from Indian Army with 3 decades of service), Jigyasa Giri (Kathak dancer, Choreographer, Entrepreneur & Social worker), Sabita Radhakrishna (Journalist, Play-writer, Textile revivalist, Cook-book writer & Broadcaster) and Commander Gauri Mishra, Ex-Naval officer who lead a contingent in Republic Day Parade, Commendation by the Chief of the Naval Staff, member of the Sky-diving team and one who promote & create awareness on gender equality in the society.
The Awards nights chairman, Rtn.Rajram.M.U. said all the awardees were felicitated by the President Rtn.Vanitha Srihari and thanked by Secretary Rtn.Deepa Jammi. Each awardee was given a plague and citation. The citations were read by a senior members of the Club.
