World Against Corruption People’s Council (New Delhi) has been conferring the Gandhi Seva award on people who have achieved feats in various fields including art, literature, society and politics. The event was inaugurated by Former Maharashtra Minister Mahadev Jankar. The awards were presented in the presence of Bollywood artists like Shantipriya, Sandeep Soparkar, and Krishna. WAC founder Vijay Bajaj had made all the necessary arrangements for the event.
Gandhian and Technologist Dr.Balamurali Balaji (residing at Porur) was awarded the Gandhi Seva Ratna award for the year 2023.
He has studied and did extensive research on Gandhian principles for the last 25 years and also written many articles and books. Earlier in August 2021, he was awarded an Honorary Doctorate in Gandhian Philosophy, Peace and Humanity by Gandhi Peace Foundation, Nepal. He has established a voluntary organisation called Techno-Gandhian Centre and has been spreading Gandhism since 2008 and doing social work.
