Ignite 2023, a meeting of first year students with Dr. Sultan Ahmed Ismail(Member, State Planning Commission, Government of Tamil Nadu) was conducted  on Feb. 10 in Alpha Arts and Science College(Porur). He is also an Academic Advisor and Governing Council Member of Alpha Arts and Science College. The other dignitaries present were Dr. A. Sivasankar (Principal) and Dr. Benita Merlin (Vice Principal).
The programme aimed to facilitate interaction of first year students with the eminent scientist, academician and member of the State Planning Commission. More than 600 students from the first year participated in the event and benefitted from the highly interactive and motivational session that oriented students on life, learning, discipline, education, careers and a whole host of other vital areas that need to be improved by young learners in order to evolve into successful and responsible future citizens and leaders of the country and the world. The activities demonstrated team work and creativity.
Dr. A. Sivasankar (Principal) welcomed the Guest.  Dr. Selvamangai (Head, Department of Biotechnology) introduced the chief guest. The programme ended with the vote of thanks by Dr. Mitra Priya (IQAC Coordinator).
It was a special day for students who were equally awed and thrilled to hear words of great wisdom conveyed with much simplicity, humility and profound meaning.
