Science Expo held at MVM

Maharishi Vidya Mandir, Avigna Celeste organised  the Science Exhibition, Vigyan Yatra on Dec. 3 in its premises.   “What we cannot learn in a classroom setting, we learnt in the science – expo” say the students of Maharishi vidya Mandir.
The Chief Guest of the occasion Vairamani (Dean, Department of Bio-Engineering, SRM College of Engineering) appreciated the event. He said that the exhibit is highly informative and acknowledged the Science department, Psychology department, Maths department and the Social Science department.
The event was full of surprises and involved exciting lucky draw prizes for the parents. Virtual Reality games, photo booth, food stalls and book stalls were also a part of the event. Over 2,000 people visited the expo.
A parrot fortune teller was present in the expo and he was crowded by people. What has a traditional fortune teller, (Kili josyam) to do with a science expo? Students unlocked this mystery by explaining the science of Parrot Psychology and Parrot learning.
Science Department covered various current topics like cell models, robotics, Conservation of Energy, Natural disaster etc., Computer Science department displayed the talents of Future Smart India. Not to the exclusion, KG department also gave their contribution to the project on the topics like wild life, aquarium etc., Long forgotten medicinal herbs were displayed by the department of Tamil.
They also prepared mouthwatering healthy traditional cuisines.Man has landed in Mars. He explores the entire world. But the most important place that he eventually misses visiting is his own brain. Hence, the Psychology department designed the room in such a way that it is an entry in to the human brain.
The topic they took was Magic of Learning. The audience got into the reminiscences of Historical past by seeing the exhibits of the Social Science department. Also, the exhibit peeped into the future of India by presenting models of zero emission power plant. Intriguing math puzzles, antique math games and the culmination of Mehendi and geometry fascinated the crowd.
Overall, the students could establish well the motto of Vigyan Yatra that the Science is a mystery to be journeyed and not a problem to be solved.
