Alpha Arts and Science College, Porur celebrated Fresher’s Day  on July 7 at the college campus, to welcome and integrate the new students into the Alpha Community. The event aimed to provide the students with essential information about the institution, its culture, the resources and infrastructure available to them.
The chief guest for the day was Udaya Sankar, Director, Nasscom and Co- Founder, Maatram Foundation and the Guest of Honour, Joseph Abraham, Founder and CEO, CXOAxis and Founder, StartNorth. The program commenced under the guidance of Suja George Chairperson, Alpha Group of Institutions, George John, Joint Director- Administration and Anna John, JointDirector- Finance Dr. A. Sivasankar, Principal, Alpha Arts and Science College, Dr. Benita Merlin, Vice Principal and Dr. Tamizharasi, Coordinator of Applied Courses were the other dignitaries present on the occasion.
The program commenced with the welcome address by Dr. A.Sivasankar, Principal, Alpha Arts and Science College. Udaya Sankar, the chief guest delivered an insightful speech that resonated with all the new students focusing on the importance of the character development that leads to success. He highlighted the dreams of the parents. He also insisted to avoid discrimination among peer group. Joseph Abraham, the Guest of Honor addressed the gathering by spotlighting the importance of decision making and discipline in the classroom. He emphasized that the students should upgrade their skills to face the real world. The program concluded with the vote of thanks by Dr. Benita Merlin, Vice Principal, Alpha Arts and Science College.
