The Care and Welfare (CW) organisation is an NGO who helps for the needy people. CW volunteers took around 200 kids to GK Cinema on May 21.
The kids were from 3 different Rainbow homes. Rainbow homes is an Association for Ruraland Urban Needy (ARUN), a programme that seeks to protect, care for, educate, and empower our most vulnerable children.
They work to guarantee that these children have access to their rights in loving, open and safe residential care homes located in government schools and buildings, and that they grow up to be joyful, responsible, and caring citizens.
The CW volunteers picked the kids from their respective homes, one from Kosapet and two
from Chetpet. Vans were arranged for them. The teaching staff said the girls were excited
from the past two days for the movie day.
This event was initiated by Bharathi Annavelan, Councillor Ward 152. R. Anitha, sponsored
the tickets \u00a0they had booked an entire hall. They screened Nenjukku Needhi, the latest Tamil
release starring Udhaynidhi Stalin. GK cinemas distributed popcorn and water bottles to the
kids, staff and volunteers. The housekeeping staff of GK cinemas sponsored biscuits for the
kids. Care and Welfare arranged for the conveyance and volunteers. It was headed by Sindhu Ram. 50 volunteers took part.
The movie was about how a police officer seeks and gets justice for them.
The main aim for all the people who were behind this initiative was to teach and make sure
that kids take away knowledge and know their rights, a press release said.
