Held under the theme &#8220;Nexus of Waste (Resource) Management and Climate Change,&#8221; the summit brought together researchers, students, academicians, industry experts, startups, government representatives, and civil society organizations to explore sustainable solutions linking waste management and climate action.<br>The summit was inaugurated with a keynote address by\u00a0Sulthan Ahamed Ismail, internationally renowned soil biologist and environmental educator, popularly known as &#8220;Manpuzhu Thaatha.&#8221; He emphasized the importance of soil biodiversity, organic waste management, and ecological restoration in addressing climate change, encouraging young researchers to adopt nature-based solutions.<br>The event also featured a special address by\u00a0Ganga Dileep, CEO of Thooimai Mission CTCL who highlighted the importance of community participation, local governance, and collaborative action in building effective waste management systems and climate-resilient communities.<br>A major highlight of the summit was two expert panel discussions. The first, &#8220;Waste and Climate \u2013 From Policy to Practice<strong>,<\/strong>&#8221; explored how government policies, industry, and communities can work together to address waste challenges through effective implementation and decentralized solutions. The second, &#8220;Circular Economy and Innovation for a Low-Carbon Future,&#8221; focused on green technologies, sustainable business models, resource efficiency, and innovations that can accelerate India&#8217;s transition toward a circular, low-carbon economy.<br>The summit successfully strengthened awareness of the link between waste management and climate action while promoting sustainable practices such as source segregation, composting, recycling, and circular economy principles.
